Russia Foils Attempted Railway Bombing in Sverdlovsk Region

Sverdlovsk: The Russian Federal Security Service (FSB) announced Monday that it had thwarted a bombing attempt targeting a railway line and had arrested the suspect behind the plot.

According to Qatar News Agency, the FSB indicated that the suspect had planned to place an improvised explosive device (IED) on the railway track in the Sverdlovsk region of southwestern Russia. The device was reportedly capable of destroying trains in motion.

The FSB had previously announced on April 14 that it had foiled a similar attempted bombing in the city of Kerch, Crimea.
