Russia, Ukraine Complete Third Phase of Prisoner Swap

Doha: Russia and Ukraine announced the success of the third phase of their prisoner swap, with 303 people released from each side. This development marks a significant moment in the ongoing efforts to ease tensions between the two nations.

According to Qatar News Agency, this exchange is part of an agreement reached during negotiations held in Istanbul on May 16. The discussions were aimed at finding common ground between the two countries, which have been in conflict for several years.

The second phase of the swap was carried out on Friday, resulting in the release of 307 people from each side. This continuous exchange reflects a mutual willingness to move towards resolving outstanding issues.

US President Donald Trump described this development as a positive step that could open the door to a new phase in negotiations aimed at reaching a comprehensive peace agreement between Moscow and Kyiv. The international community is monitoring these exchanges closely, hoping for a peaceful resolution to the longstanding conflict.
