Russian Defense Ministry Announces Downing of 34 Ukrainian Drones Over Multiple Regions

Moscow: The Russian Ministry of Defense announced on Saturday that its air defense systems shot down 34 Ukrainian drones overnight over several regions.

According to Qatar News Agency, the ministry detailed that 14 drones were destroyed over the Black Sea, 8 over Smolensk region, 5 over Bryansk region, 3 over Belgorod and Krasnodar regions, and 1 over Kaluga region.

The Russia-Ukraine conflict, ongoing since February 2022, has seen Russia maintain control over several areas of Ukrainian territory while opposing any potential NATO membership for Kyiv. Meanwhile, Western countries continue to provide military and security support to Ukraine, amid active US diplomatic efforts aimed at finding solutions to end the conflict.
