Russian Foreign Ministry Asserts Right to Retaliate Against Ukrainian Energy Attacks

Moscow: The Russian Foreign Ministry has declared that Moscow reserves the right to a “symmetrical response” should Ukraine persist in its attacks on energy infrastructure.

According to Qatar News Agency, Maria Zakharova, spokesperson for the Foreign Ministry, emphasized Kyiv’s “complete disregard for agreements and its lack of commitment to achieving peace.” This statement follows accusations by the Russian Ministry of Defense, which claimed that Ukrainian forces withdrawing from the Korsk axis had recently destroyed the Sudzha gas pumping station.

Reports from both Russia and Ukraine present conflicting accounts of the situation on the ground. The ongoing conflict, which began in February 2022, has made it impossible to verify these reports through independent sources.
