S. Korea’s Acting President Attends Qatar Philharmonic Concert Marking 50 Years of Diplomatic Ties


Seoul: South Korea’s Acting President Han Duck-soo attended a concert by the Qatar Philharmonic Orchestra in the capital, Seoul, marking the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the State of Qatar and the Republic of Korea.



According to Qatar News Agency, the event was organized by the Embassy of the State of Qatar in South Korea, in cooperation with the Goyang Culture Foundation. Under the baton of Maestro Wilson Ng and featuring pianist Jae Hong Park, the orchestra performed a selection of international classical works, concluding with musical pieces drawn from Qatari heritage.



The concert was attended by several South Korean ministers and officials, heads of Arab and foreign diplomatic missions, business leaders and representatives from Korean companies, as well as journalists, media professionals, and public figures from various sectors.



The Qatari Embassy also hosted a photo exhibition in the reception hall of the National Theater of Korea, showcasing Qatar’s cultural heritage, traditions, and customs. The exhibition highlighted the country’s renaissance across various sectors, with a focus on culture and art.



The concert drew an audience and was met with praise. Attendees expressed their admiration for the Qatar Philharmonic Orchestra’s performance. Aimed at strengthening cultural ties and fostering mutual understanding between the two nations through music, the concert is part of a series of cultural events organized by the Qatari Embassy to commemorate the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the State of Qatar and the Republic of Korea.
