Saudi Al-Qadsiah Pens Two-Year Deal with Veteran Defender Yasser Al-Shahrani

Doha: Saudi club Al-Qadsiah FC have announced the signing of veteran defender Yasser Al Shahrani on a free transfer, securing a two-year deal following the expiration of his contract with Al-Hilal SFC.

According to Qatar News Agency, the club unveiled the 33-year-old left-back in a video shared across its official social media platforms, welcoming back a familiar face who first rose through Qadsiah's youth system before moving to Al-Hilal in 2012, where he went on to enjoy a 13-year spell.

Al-Hilal expressed gratitude for Al Shahrani's contributions by posting a farewell video, captioned: "13 years of gold... Thank you, Yasser Al Shahrani." During his time with Al-Hilal, Al Shahrani made 420 appearances, scored 15 goals, and registered 41 assists. His decorated career includes six Saudi Pro League titles, two AFC Champions League trophies, five King's Cups, and five Saudi Super Cups.

Last season, Al Shahrani featured in 20 matches across all competitions but was sidelined in December due to injury, before returning to action in April. On the international stage, Al Shahrani has earned 78 caps for the Saudi Arabian national team, including his participation in the 2022 FIFA World Cup finals.
