Riyadh:Saudi Arabia's General Authority of Civil Aviation (GACA) has reported that attacks on Abha International Airport in the Asir region and King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh resulted in the deaths of three residents and injuries to 36 others.
According to Qatar News Agency, the attacks occurred on Tuesday and Wednesday, prompting immediate responses from emergency teams and relevant authorities in line with established protocols.
At Abha International Airport, two residents, a Moroccan and an Algerian, were killed. Additionally, 30 people were injured, including 28 citizens and two residents from Bangladesh and the Philippines, with injuries ranging from minor to serious.
At King Khalid International Airport, a Sudanese resident was killed, and eight others were injured, comprising five citizens, two Egyptian residents, and one Pakistani resident. The injuries varied in severity from minor to serious.
The injured individuals were taken to hospitals for treatment. GACA mentioned that the attacks also caused some material damage. The authority confirmed ongoing collaboration with security agencies to assess the damage and implement measures to ensure the safety of travelers and the civil aviation system in the Kingdom.
