Doha: The Shura Council participated in the 53rd meeting of the Bureau of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Mediterranean (PAM), which was conducted via video conferencing. According to Qatar News Agency, the Council was represented by HE Abdullah bin Nasser bin Turki Al Subaie, who is a Member of the Shura Council and also serves as the Vice President of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Mediterranean. The meeting addressed a range of topics, with a focus on developments in the Middle East and the preliminary agenda for the 19th General Assembly, set to take place in Rome next February. The discussions also covered parliamentary efforts to combat human trafficking and migrant smuggling. Additionally, the meeting included a legal report on the financial status and budget of the Assembly, updates on the parliamentary passport, and other pertinent issues. Participants in the meeting highlighted the significance of bolstering regional parliamentary cooperation to effectively tackle common challenges and prom ote peace and development initiatives in the Mediterranean region.
