South Korea Intensifies Trade Talks with US over Tariffs

Seoul: The South Korean government announced the intensification of trade talks with the United States regarding tariffs.

According to Qatar News Agency, this development came in a statement by the South Korean Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy, following the extension of the deadline for implementing reciprocal tariffs imposed by the US on South Korea until August 1.

The ministry stated that it plans to expedite negotiations to achieve mutually beneficial outcomes during the remaining period to address the uncertainty resulting from the tariffs.

US President Donald Trump recently sent a letter to South Korean President Lee Jae-myung, announcing the imposition of 25% tariffs on South Korean imports starting next month.
