Two Killed, 10 Wounded in Continuing Israeli Strikes on Southern Lebanon

Lebanon: Lebanon's Health Ministry said on Sunday that successive Israeli airstrikes on the town of Arabsalim in the Nabatieh district of southern Lebanon killed two people and wounded 10 others, including paramedics. Lebanon's National News Agency reported that the strikes were preceded by another raid that destroyed a Civil Defense center in the city of Nabatieh, which was empty of rescue personnel at the time of the attack.

According to Qatar News Agency, in a statement, the Lebanese Health Ministry condemned the series of attacks targeting the health and emergency sector in southern Lebanon, saying the attacks provided further evidence of the Israeli entity's brutal, inhumane and unethical conduct, which violated humanitarian and international laws guaranteeing the right to rescue and medical treatment.

The ministry had earlier announced that the death toll from the Israeli offensive in Lebanon had risen to 3,151 killed and 9,571 wounded since March 2.

The Israeli entity has continued its attacks in southern Lebanon despite a cease-fire agreement that took effect on April 16 and was extended for a second time on May 15 for an additional 45 days, amid warnings of a worsening security and humanitarian situation in the region.
