Doha:US Secretary of State Marco Rubio met with Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan bin Abdullah to discuss regional security and political developments, including the situation in Yemen and efforts related to it.
According to Qatar News Agency, the discussions emphasized the importance of protecting navigation security and ensuring free passage in international waterways, particularly in the Strait of Hormuz and Bab Al Mandab. This focus aims to bolster regional stability and maintain the flow of trade and global supply chains.
The meeting also addressed the need for continued coordination between the US and Saudi Arabia on mutual interests. Both parties expressed support for diplomatic efforts to resolve regional crises and enhance security and peace.
Additionally, the strategic relations between the US and Saudi Arabia were reviewed, with talks on strengthening and developing these ties across various fields to benefit both nations.
