Gaza: The United Nations World Food Programme (WFP) announced that it has sent only 9,000 tons of food aid to the Gaza Strip since May 19, emphasizing that this amount is insufficient for even a single day's requirement.
According to Qatar News Agency, the UN program detailed in a post on the X platform that the aid sent is far less than the daily food needs of the entire population of the Strip. The WFP expressed its readiness to expand operations in the besieged area but underscored the necessity for improved access and conditions to safely carry out its work.
Last week, the WFP condemned the unacceptable violence faced by Palestinians as they attempt to access humanitarian aid in the Gaza Strip. It described such actions as a violation of human dignity and a contributing factor to the worsening humanitarian crisis affecting over two million Palestinians in the region.
