New york: Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky affirmed that the United Nations Charter and the Universal Declaration of Human Rights must be applied everywhere.
According to Qatar News Agency, in his speech before the 80th session of the UN General Assembly, the Ukrainian president stated that the global system is powerless in the face of what is happening in Gaza, where the situation remains without a solution. He added that Syria, too, continues to appeal to the world to ease the burden of sanctions that weigh heavily on its economy.
President Zelensky spoke about the ongoing Russian-Ukrainian war, stressing that Ukrainians continue to suffer human losses every week as the war with Russia persists, pointing out that Moscow refuses to agree to a ceasefire. Zelensky called on the United Nations to take action to stop Russia from expanding the scope of war in Europe, adding that countries around the world can no longer protect themselves due to the advancement of weaponry and the threat of drones.
