Graz: Ten people were killed and others injured in a shooting at a high school in the Austrian city of Graz, on Tuesday. Graz’s Mayor Elke Kahr confirmed that the suspected shooter is among the ten fatalities, alongside students and at least one adult.
According to Qatar News Agency, Austria’s Ministry of the Interior reported that several people were killed in the morning’s high school shooting. The ministry added that investigations are ongoing to determine the exact number of casualties.
Austrian police announced that special forces have been deployed to the school, with a helicopter also being utilized in the operation.
The European Union’s High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Kaja Kallas, expressed her shock over the incident. She stated, “Deeply shocked by the news of the school shooting in Austria. Every child should feel safe at school and be able to learn free from fear and violence. My thoughts are with the victims, their families and the Austrian people in this dark moment.”
