19th Session of Advisory Council for Cultural Development in Islamic World Held in Jeddah

Jeddah: Jeddah hosted Monday the 19th meeting of the Advisory Council for Cultural Development in the Islamic World, held by the Islamic World Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (ICESCO). The State of Qatar was represented at the meeting by Director of the Department of Culture and Arts at the Ministry of Culture, Abdulrahman Abdullah Al Dulaimi.

According to Qatar News Agency, during the opening session, the formation of the Advisory Council's office for its new session was approved, with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia assuming the presidency from the State of Qatar, which will assume the position of rapporteur, while Palestine and Senegal assumed the vice-presidency of the Advisory Council.

The meeting discussed the agenda, draft resolutions, and documents that will be presented during the 13th session of the Conference of Ministers of Culture in the Islamic World, scheduled to be held on February 12 and 13 in Jeddah.

Head of the Culture Sector at ISESCO, Dr. Mohamed Zein El Abidine, stressed the organization's efforts to qualify talents for excellence and innovation in the Islamic world, to become starting points for research and innovation in all fields with scientific, artistic, technical, and communication dimensions. He reviewed the most prominent achievements made by ISESCO in the cultural field during the two sessions of the conference, and the initiatives and documents it will present during the 13th Conference of Ministers of Culture in the Islamic World.

Dr. Zein El Abidine noted in this regard that ISESCO is working to establish its specialized centers in the arts of calligraphy and manuscripts, poetry, and literature, stressing that the organization, along with its member states, draws inspiration from qualitative work plans to achieve more work and innovation so that culture becomes an essential and foundational act in the Islamic world.

For his part, Chairman of the Advisory Council for Cultural Development in the Islamic World, Dr. Talal bin Saud Al Ruwais, highlighted the contributions of the civilization of the Islamic world to the advancement of cultural affairs.

The meeting concluded with the adoption of the draft agenda of the 13th Conference of Ministers of Culture in the Islamic World.
