LMRA conducts inspection campaign in Muharraq Governorate

The Labour Market Regulatory Authority (LMRA) today conducted an inspection campaign on expatriate employees gathering places and a number of shops in Muharraq Governorate, in cooperation with the Nationality, Passports and Residence Affairs at the Ministry of Interior and the Muharraq Governorate Directorate.

The joint inspection campaigns aim to stabilise the local labour market and identify any violations or illegal procedures that may affect the fairness, flexibility, and competitiveness of the labour market.

The campaign resulted in the arrest of a number of violators who were found in breach of the LMRA provisions and the Residence Law in the Kingdom of Bahrain.

The authority stressed the importance of society’s role in supporting the efforts of government agencies in addressing illegal practices in the labour market.

Bahrain wins UNESCO’s IBE membership

The Kingdom of Bahrain has won the membership of the International Bureau of Education (IBE) of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organisation (UNESCO), representing the Arab States Group, during the UNESCO’s General Conference in France and the meetings of its committees.

Education Minister, Dr. Majid bin Ali Al-Nuaimi, extended sincere congratulations to His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, on the occasion.

Curtain comes down on QNB Asia Triathlon Cup Doha 2021

DOHA: The QNB Asia Triathlon Cup Doha 2021 was concluded in front of glistening Lusail Marina waters on Saturday. The Qatar Triathlon Federation (QTF) hosted a public race for over 250 triathletes from Qatar and the GCC region.

Aday Alvarez claimed the first place in Men’s event with a time of 57:35 minutes. Bernard Mccullagh and Tomas Perucca took the second and third places respectively.

Toni Snoxell won Women’s event after clocking a time of 1:09:11. Adeline Cormary occupied the second place ahead of Rebecca Page in third place.

The QOC Padel Tournament 2021 by ooredoo concluded

DOHA- The QOC Padel Tournament 2021 by ooredoo was concluded on Saturday. The third edition of the tournament was held at Ali Bin Hamad Al-Attiyah Arena of Al Sadd Sports Club and the Khalifa Tennis and Squash Complex with participation more than 600 players.

In Men’s event, Carlos Lopez Hidalgo and Gonzalo Sacho won the title of Category (A) after beating Guillem Blasi and Pablo Gomez Molpeceres in the final match.

Jassim Al Mulla and Ishaq Al Hashimi claimed the title of QOC Employees Padel Tournament after winning the final match held on Friday.

The Tournament Director Nasser Al Modahka hailed the success of the QOC Padel Tournament in its third edition which featured the participation of more than 600 players.

He also thanked the sponsors for their support to the Qatari Sports and to Padel in particular.

Al Modahka said that the QOC organized the inaugural Padel Tournament in lights of its efforts to increase community engagement and sports participation.
