Doha: An earthquake measuring 5.5 magnitude on the Richter scale struck off the coast of Fiji on Monday.
According to Qatar News Agency, the United States Geological Survey (USGS) said that the epicenter of the earthquake was at a depth of 556 km.
Fiji is prone to frequent earthquakes as it lies along the Pacific Ring of Fire.
