European Stocks Close Higher as Investors Eye French Politics and Nvidia Earnings

Doha: European stock indexes closed higher at the end of today's trading, as investors monitored the political situation in France and awaited the earnings results of artificial intelligence company Nvidia. The pan-European Stoxx 600 index closed up 0.1 percent.

According to Qatar News Agency, France's CAC 40 index rose 0.4 percent after hitting a three-week low in the previous session. This rebound was driven by a sell-off in domestic assets amid concerns that Prime Minister Fran§ois Bayrou's government could collapse next month.

Meanwhile, the heavyweight banking sector led declines, falling 1.3 percent. Shares of Germany's Deutsche Bank and Commerzbank dropped 3.4 percent and 4.9 percent, respectively, following a downgrade in their ratings by Goldman Sachs.

In contrast, the personal and household goods sector saw a gain of 1.5 percent. Luxury goods stocks led the rally, with their broader index reaching its highest level in nearly a month.
