Jordanian King and Indonesian President Forge Stronger Ties Amid Regional Tensions

Doha: Jordan’s King Abdullah II met with Indonesia’s President Prabowo Subianto on Monday to explore avenues for strengthening bilateral cooperation and address significant regional issues.

According to Qatar News Agency, the discussions focused on efforts to halt the ongoing conflict in Gaza, restore the ceasefire, and ensure the resumption of humanitarian aid. Both leaders emphasized the need to advance the Palestinian cause and pursue a political resolution that supports a just and comprehensive peace based on a two-state solution.

The leaders jointly condemned the escalating violations by Israeli forces against Al-Aqsa Mosque and voiced concerns over any attempts to alter the historical and legal status quo of the holy sites in Jerusalem. They warned against actions that could lead to the temporal and spatial division of these sites.

In addition to discussing regional developments, King Abdullah II and President Subianto witnessed the signing of a defense cooperation agreement and three memoranda of understanding in various fields, solidifying the commitment to enhance collaboration between Jordan and Indonesia.
