Doha: The Ministry of Municipality and Weill Cornell Medicine-Qatar (WCM-Q) today signed a strategic partnership agreement to enhance the role of the 'LifeHub' project, located in Msheireb Downtown Doha. This project is an interactive educational center that aligns with Qatar's national vision to foster a sustainable future driven by innovation and human progress.
According to Qatar News Agency, the agreement was signed by Assistant Undersecretary for Public Services Affairs Eng. Abdullah Ahmed Al Karani on behalf of the Ministry of Municipality, and by Dean of the College Dr. Javaid Sheikh for Weill Cornell Medicine-Qatar. The signing ceremony was attended by several senior officials from both organizations.
Al Karani stated that the Ministry of Municipality is committed to adopting the latest technologies and innovations to create smart solutions for contemporary challenges. The Ministry aims to develop infrastructure and services that ensure a sustainable environment supporting human health in Qatar. He highlighted that the 'LifeHub' project will enhance community participation in sustainability efforts, contributing to a safe, healthy, and sustainable future for both current and future generations.
He further mentioned that the Ministry plans to expand partnerships with national institutions on topics within its scope, such as recycling, public hygiene, agriculture, greening, and food safety and security. These efforts are intended to raise community awareness, especially among students and youth.
Dr. Javaid Sheikh emphasized that the strategic partnership will expand the project's reach and create opportunities to leverage technology and artificial intelligence for sustainability, human health, and environmental protection. He noted that 'LifeHub' is designed to be an educational and dialogue platform for visitors to Msheireb.
The project builds on WCM-Q's success at Expo 2023 Doha, where the LifeHub pavilion attracted over 70,000 visitors, providing an interactive experience focused on innovation and technology's role in addressing global challenges.
LifeHub Msheireb is situated in The Z-07, a 1,634-square-meter building featuring an educational area for the Ministry of Municipality, designed with the latest interactive standards. The project is slated to open to the public in the fourth quarter of 2025, serving as an educational beacon highlighting the intersection of health, technology, and sustainability in Msheireb.
