Palestinian Child Martyred, Two Others Injured by Israeli Occupation Forces in West Bank

Ramallah: A Palestinian child was martyred, and two others were injured by live ammunition fired by Israeli occupation forces near the town of Turmus Ayya, northeast of Ramallah in the West Bank.

According to Qatar News Agency, the Palestinian News Agency (WAFA) reported that the Ministry of Health confirmed the martyrdom of a 14-year-old child, who was shot by Israeli forces in the town of Turmus Ayya. The Ministry was informed of the child's death through the Palestinian Authority's General Authority for Civil Affairs.

Earlier reports from local sources indicated that Israeli forces fired live rounds at three children as they were standing on a street near the town. One of the children, identified as Omar Mohammed Saada Rabi (14 years old), was arrested before being declared a martyr. The other two children were transported to a medical center in the nearby village of Abu Falah for treatment.

In a statement, the Palestinian Red Crescent Society said that it transported two injured children, aged 14 and 15, from the village of Abu Falah to the hospital. One of them was shot in the abdomen, while the other sustained a gunshot wound to the thigh.

Local sources also reported that Israeli forces obstructed the exit of ambulances from Turmus Ayya, intentionally delaying their departure.

The West Bank and occupied Jerusalem are witnessing daily raids and incursions by Israeli forces, accompanied by confrontations, arrests, and the use of live and rubber-coated bullets, as well as tear gas and toxic gas canisters against Palestinian youth. The frequency of these operations has intensified amid the ongoing and unprecedented Israeli assault on the Gaza Strip since Oct. 7, 2023.
