Astana: The 7th session of the Qatari-Kazakh Joint Higher Committee in Astana focused on enhancing economic, trade, and investment cooperation between Qatar and Kazakhstan. The meeting underscored the commitment of both nations to deepen their strategic relations and explore new avenues for collaboration.
According to Qatar News Agency, the Qatari delegation was led by HE Minister of State for Foreign Trade Affairs at the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Dr. Ahmed bin Mohammed Al Sayed. The Kazakh side was headed by HE Vice Minister of National Economy, Arman Kassenov. Senior officials from both countries participated in the discussions.
HE the Minister of State for Foreign Trade Affairs highlighted the significance of the committee in bolstering bilateral relations and fostering partnerships across key sectors. The committee serves as a crucial platform for both nations to explore opportunities in trade, investment, finance, agriculture, transportation, science, higher education, joint research, information technology, artificial intelligence, health, labor, tourism, culture, regional cooperation, and environmental and climate change initiatives.
Both sides agreed on actionable steps to enhance cooperation, increase trade volume, and facilitate the exchange of goods, services, and investments. On the sidelines of the session, Dr. Ahmed bin Mohammed Al Sayed engaged in bilateral meetings with senior Kazakh officials, including HE Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of National Economy Serik Zhumangarin, HE Chairman of Foreign Trade Chamber Murat Karimsakov, and HE CEO of the Sovereign Wealth Fund (Samruk-Kazyna) Nurlan Zhakupov.
These meetings explored joint cooperation prospects and investment opportunities in Qatar, focusing on incentives for investors and ways to strengthen public and private sector partnerships. The discussions aimed at contributing to the sustainable economic development of both Qatar and Kazakhstan.
