Doha: The Qatar Athletics Federation has announced the organization of the inaugural "Doha Runs" event, scheduled to take place on the track of Khalifa International Stadium next Tuesday. This event will feature a series of track running races over different distances.
According to Qatar News Agency, the Federation has partnered with Puma, its official partner responsible for outfitting national teams, to promote running as a foundational aspect of athletics. The initiative is designed to encourage the practice of running among a broad audience.
Participation in the "Doha Runs" is open to all athletes, including those registered with clubs that compete in Federation-organized events throughout the season, as well as members of the Qatari community of all ages. This inclusive approach aims to provide technical benefits to participants and enhance their running capabilities.
The event is set to take place over a three-hour period, from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., on the track of Khalifa International Stadium. The Federation's technical committees will oversee the event to ensure compliance with technical running standards, promoting proper running practices and techniques.
