Qatar Athletics Team Clinches Three Medals at Arab Championship in Algeria


Algiers: The Qatar Athletics Team secured three medals, one gold and two silver, in the opening of its participation in the 24th Arab Men’s Athletics Championship, held in Algeria, with 160 athletes from 12 countries competing.



According to Qatar News Agency, the three medals were claimed by Hamdi Al Amin, who won gold in the high jump, clearing 2.14 meters, Ahmed Jibril, who secured silver in the shot put, recording 17.88 meters, and Omar Dawood, who earned silver in the 110m hurdles, clocking 13.78 seconds.



The Qatari squad features a strong lineup of elite track and field athletes, including Abdulrahman Samba in the 400m hurdles, Omar Dawood in the 110m hurdles, Ashraf Al Saifi and Ahmed Al Saifi in the hammer throw, Moath Ibrahim in the discus throw, Saif Mohammed in the pole vault, Ahmed Jibril in the shot put, and Hamdi Al Amin in the high jump.
