Doha: The Qatar Society of Engineers affirmed that the novel law supporting innovation and scientific research represents a qualitative leap and an important strategic platform for opening up broad horizons for innovators and researchers in various sectors, particularly engineering and technology, which represent the backbone of modern development in Qatar.
According to Qatar News Agency, in a statement today, the society expressed its appreciation and gratitude to HH the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani, for the issuance of Law No. (8) of 2025 regarding the support of innovation and scientific research, and Amiri Decision No. (19) of 2025 establishing the Qatar Foundation for Supporting Innovation, Scientific Research.
Chairperson of the Board of Directors of the Qatar Society of Engineers Eng. Amna Mohammed Al Naama, indicated that this initiative reflects the insightful vision of the Qatari leadership to build a sustainable national economy based on knowledge and innovation. She emphasized that the new foundation will be a key catalyst for unleashing latent potential and encouraging creative ideas, contributing to addressing local and global challenges and strengthening Qatar’s position as a leading regional center for research and development.
In addition, the Qatar Society of Engineers affirmed its aspiration to establish a strong and effective governance system for the institution, while emphasizing the need to apply the highest standards of transparency and efficiency in the management of its resources, to ensure the achievement of its desired goals and the maximum benefit for the state and society.
It expressed its full readiness to cooperate and provide full support to the Qatar Foundation for Innovation and Scientific Research, stressing the importance of concerted efforts across various sectors to achieve Qatar National Vision 2030.
