Doha: The State of Qatar has issued a strong condemnation of the recent attacks carried out by the Houthi group on civilian objects and civilians in the Saudi cities of Khamis Mushait, Abha, and Taif. These attacks, which involved the use of ballistic missiles and drones, resulted in injuries to several civilians and caused material damage to residential homes and vehicles.
According to Qatar News Agency, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs described the attacks as acts of aggression and highlighted their unacceptable disregard for civilian lives. The Ministry underscored that these actions represent a blatant violation of the sovereignty of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and a breach of international law.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs reiterated Qatar's firm rejection of any assaults targeting civilian objects and civilians and emphasized the necessity for an immediate cessation of such acts. Furthermore, the Ministry reaffirmed Qatar's unwavering solidarity with Saudi Arabia, supporting all legitimate measures taken by the Kingdom to maintain its sovereignty, security, and territorial integrity.
Emphasizing regional security, the Ministry highlighted that Saudi Arabia's security is an integral part of Qatar's security and the broader security framework of the Cooperation Council for the Arab States of the Gulf (GCC). The statement also conveyed Qatar's wishes for a swift recovery for the injured and a prayer for the protection of Saudi Arabia and its people.
