Qatar’s Beach Volleyball Team Advances to Elite 16 Gstaad Final

Doha: The Qatari beach volleyball team, consisting of Cherif Younousse and Ahmed Tijan, advanced to the final match of the Volleyball World Beach Pro Tour Elite 16 Gstaad, following a victory over the Dutch duo Stefan Boermans and Yorick De Groot in straight sets.

According to Qatar News Agency, the Qatari team secured the win with set scores of 21-16 and 21-18, in a match that showcased their strong performance, high-level tactics, and coordination throughout the game.

Earlier today, the Qatari team had qualified for the semifinals after defeating another Dutch duo consisting of Steven van de Velde and Alexander Brouwer with a score of 2-1. The set scores were 22-20, 21-23, and 15-13, further affirming the Qatari duo's strength in the tournament.

Sunday's final match will see the Qatari team face the Swedish duo of David Ahman and Jonatan Hellvig, who reached the final after a 2-0 win over the Brazilian team of George and Andre.

This qualification marks a major achievement for the Qatari national team, competing among the world's elite-ranked teams. Backed by Qatari supporters, Cherif Younousse and Ahmed Tijan are aiming to capture the championship title, further solidifying their standing on the international beach volleyball stage.
