Qatar’s Handover of 21st Asian Games Flag Highlights Sporting Milestone

Doha:Qatar's receipt of the flag for the 21st Asian Games, scheduled for Doha in 2030, marks a significant milestone in the nation's sporting history and initiates preparations for the event, according to Abdullah Al Mulla, Director of the 3-2-1 Qatar Olympic and Sports Museum.

According to Qatar News Agency, Al Mulla emphasized that Qatar's selection to host the Asian Games builds on its successful hosting of the 2006 edition, which enhanced its status on both the Asian and international sporting stages. He noted that Qatar set ambitious standards in 2006, earning widespread acclaim, and expects Doha 2030 to be another landmark event, supported by early preparations and valuable experience gained from hosting major events like the 2022 FIFA World Cup Qatar and other significant tournaments.

Al Mulla further highlighted Qatar's transformation into a key destination for athletes and sporting delegations. This development is attributed to the nation's advanced infrastructure, world-class facilities, and its ability to create an integrated environment for competitions and related events.

He also stated that Qatar is committed to using its resources to host an Asian Games that reflects the event's stature while creating a lasting legacy for future generations. The 3-2-1 Qatar Olympic and Sports Museum, along with Qatar Museums, will contribute through various activities and programs to highlight Qatar's sporting heritage and strengthen community ties with sports and their values.

Al Mulla stressed the importance of utilizing existing sports facilities to ensure a sustainable legacy for the Games.
