Brussels: French coach Rudy Garcia, the manager of the Belgium national team, announced Friday the return of Real Madrid goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois to the squad for the first time since June 2023. This comes as Belgium prepares for crucial matches against Ukraine in the UEFA Nations League.
According to Qatar News Agency, Courtois, 32, will rejoin the national team after previously retiring from international football following a dispute with former coach Domenico Tedesco, who did not name him captain for Belgium's match against Austria.
In a press conference, Garcia stated that he decided to recall Courtois after the goalkeeper expressed his desire to return to the national team, emphasizing his confidence in the Real Madrid star.
