Trump Asserts Continued US Blockade on Iranian Ports Amid Negotiations

Washington: US President Donald Trump declared on Sunday that the United States will not "rush into an agreement" with Iran, emphasizing that the American blockade on Iranian ports will remain "fully in force and effective" until a deal is finalized.

According to Qatar News Agency, Trump posted on the Truth Social platform, stating, "The negotiations are proceeding in an orderly and constructive manner, and I have informed my representatives not to rush into a deal in that time is on our side." He further elaborated that the blockade would persist until an agreement is reached, certified, and signed, urging both parties to take their time to ensure the deal is done correctly.

Trump remarked on the evolving relationship between the United States and Iran, describing it as becoming "much more professional and productive." He stressed, however, that Iran must understand it cannot develop or procure a nuclear weapon or bomb.

These comments followed Trump's statement a day earlier, where he noted that a comprehensive agreement between the United States and Iran had been "largely negotiated," with the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz signaling progress toward resolving the protracted conflict. Trump mentioned that while most details had been agreed upon, the final aspects were still under discussion and would be announced "soon."
