President al- Assad receives an invitation from King of Bahrain to participate in the Arab upcoming summit


Damascus, President Bashar al-Assad received a written message from his Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, King of Bahrain, which included an official invitation to participate in the meeting of the 33rd regular session of the Council of the League of Arab States on the level of summit, which will be held on May 16 in the Bahraini capital, Manama.

The invitation was handed to President al-Assad by Ambassador of the Kingdom of Bahrain in Damascus, Waheed Mubarak Sayyar.

Russia delivers strike at Ukrainian intelligence decision-making centers


Moscow, Russian forces delivered a combined strike by long-range precision weapons and unmanned aerial vehicles against Ukrainian intelligence decision-making centers and sites and foreign mercenaries’ deployment areas over the past day in the special military operation in Ukraine, TASS quoted Russia’s Defense Ministry as saying in a statement on Tuesday.

‘During the last 24-hour period, the Russian Armed Forces delivered a combined strike by seaborne and ground-based long-range precision weapons and unmanned aerial vehicles against SBU [Ukrainian Security Service] decision-making centers and sites, military-industrial enterprises and deployment areas of Ukrainian Neo-Nazi formations and foreign mercenaries. All the targets were struck. The goals of the strike were achieved,’ the ministry explained in a statement.

President al-Assad issues decrees on dismissal of three judges


Damascus, President Bashar al-Assad issued two decrees implementing the dismissal penalty imposed by the Supreme Judicial Council against three judges.

Passing the decrees was on the background of serious legal violations and errors made by the judges.

According to the decrees, the dismissed judges’ rights are to be liquidated in accordance with the applicable laws.

Syria, Russia sign MoU on peaceful uses of atomic energy


Moscow, Within the ATOMEXPO-2024 Forum held in Sochi, both Syria and Russia signed on Tuesday a memorandum of understanding (MoU) between Atomic Energy Commission of Syria (AECS) and Rosatom State Atomi? Energy Corporation (ROSATOM) in the field of peaceful uses of atomic energy.

Based on a cooperation agreement and the MoU, an implementation plan has been established including the supply of some radioactive isotopes for medical uses to Syria as well as some isotopes used in non-destructive testing that are conducted for oil pipelines, fuel tanks and aircrafts, said AECS’s Director General Ibrahim Othman in a statement.

Othman went on to say, ‘It was also agreed to train members of AECS, along with obtaining three scholarships covering some of the specialties related to the peaceful uses of atomic energy. In addition to that, the agreement involved cooperation in other fields, such as plasma physics and other applications.’

This agreement has been under discussion for a long time, and in parallel with Syri
a’s attendance at the ATOMEXPO-2024 Forum, it was signed, Othman noted.

A cooperation agreement inked to restore al-Zarb Market in Aleppo


Aleppo, Syria Trust for Development and Aleppo Governorate along with the General Directorate of Antiquities and Museums, the Bank of Bemo Saudi Fransi (BBSF) and Aleppo City Council, signed a cooperation agreement to rehabilitate and restore Souk al-Zarb (al-Zarb Market).

The terms of the agreement stipulate rehabilitating in accordance with the standards for the restoration of archaeological markets which ensures the preservation of their historical identity.

The agreement aimed at the restoration of the aforementioned market, which is the last one on the straight street leading to the Aleppo Citadel, in order to advance the wheel of life for it after many markets and neighborhoods been restored there.

The restoration works is expected to last for a period of 15 months.

Seven soldiers martyred, others wounded in US occupation aggression on Deir Ezzor countryside


Damascus, Seven soldiers and one civilian were martyred, and many others were wounded in an aerial aggression launched by US occupation forces on a number of villages, towns and military sites in Deir Ezzor countryside.

‘The US occupation forces launched an aerial aggression by warplanes and drones, targeting a number of villages, towns and military sites in Deir Ezzor countryside,’ A military source told SANA on Tuesday.

The source added that the aggression claimed the lives of 7 soldiers and one civilian, injured 19 soldiers and 13 civilians and caused huge material damages in the public and private properties.

Effective and efficient instruments for combating terrorism must be established_ al-Jaafari reiterates


Moscow, The Syrian Ambassador to Moscow, Bashar al-Jaafari, underlined on Tuesday the necessity of developing effective multilateral tools for combating terrorism, indicating that the best way to deal with this type of collective threat is to activate international mechanisms.

‘Today, Syria voiced profound solidarity with the Russian President, government and people regarding the heinous terrorist attack’, al-Jaafari wrote in the record of condolences that was opened in the Russian Foreign Ministry in memory of the victims of the terrorist attack that occurred at Crocus City Hall on Friday evening.

Ambassador al-Jaafari attached great importance to establishing serious, credible and multilateral tools to fight terrorism, as it has been proven that the existing mechanisms are ineffective, thus the World needs serious and reliable collective action for that.

Syria condemns US occupation unfair aggression on many sites in Deir Ezzor


Damascus, Syria condemns US occupation forces unfair aggression that targeted Tuesday dawn many sites and towns in Deir Ezzor and led to the martyrdom of seven soldiers and a civilian in addition to huge losses in public and private properties.

‘The US has appointed itself as a policeman for the whole world under pretexts that are condemned by the international law and the international humanitarian law,’ Foreign and Expatriates Ministry said in a statement.

The statement added ‘based on that, the US should end its illegitimate presence on Syrian territory, and end it open support and fund for Daesh and other terrorist organizations.’

‘Syria calls on world countries which struggle for their sovereignty, freedom and independence to condemn that aggression and reject it and demand the US to end its illegal presence and its terrorist military operations in the region,’ the statement said.

The Ministry concluded by saying that Syria reaffirms its right in self-defense and bring the aggressors into justice by all means guaranteed by the international law.
