Damascus, With the participation of Syria, competitions of the Japanese Olympiad in Informatics (Spring Training) for the year 2024 were launched online on Saturday and they will last for two days.

The Excellence and Creativity Commission of the Syrian Science Olympiad said in a statement, that the national team for informatics represented Syria in this Olympiad, whose first round was held for five hours, from the National Center for excellence in Homs.

The commission added that Syria’s international participations continue in various scientific disciplines.

Baghdad, Iraqi resistance announced that it had targeted with drones the headquarters of the Zionist Ministry of Defense.

The Iraqi resistance said in a statement that at dawn on Sunday, its fighters targeted with drones the headquarters of the Zionist Ministry of Defense.

‘This qualitative operation comes in these blessed nights to confirm our continuation of destroying enemy strongholds and our completion of the second phase of operations to resist the occupation in support of our people in Gaza, and in response to the Zionist massacres against defenseless Palestinian civilians,’ it added.

Last Thursday, the Iraqi resistance targeted, with drones, the Israeli enemy’s power plant in Tel Aviv.

Beirut, Lebanese resistance has targeted, with dozens of missiles, the Israeli enemy’s missile and artillery base in ‘Yoav’ and ‘Keila” barracks (headquarters of the anti-Air and Missile Command) early Sunday in response to shelling an area in Baalbek city, eastern Lebanon.

‘In support of the steadfast Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip and their brave and honorable Resistance and in response to the Israeli attack on the city of Baalbek in eastern Lebanon, our fighters early Sunday targeted the Israeli enemy’s missile and artillery base in ‘Yoav’ and ‘Keila” barracks with more than sixty Katyusha rockets,’ the Lebanese resistance said in a statement.

On Saturday midnight, the Israeli enemy aircraft bombed, with four missiles, a building in al-Asira neighborhood, Baalbek city, eastern Lebanon destroying the building and wounding three Lebanese citizens.

Meanwhile, the Israeli enemy targeted with artillery Qatamoun area on the southern outskirts of Rmaych town, southern Lebanon.

Moscow, Syrian community in the Russian Federation has strongly condemned the cowardly terror attack on the Crocus City Hall on the outskirts of Moscow, expressing solidarity with the friendly Russian people and the families of the victims, and its wishes for a speedy recovery for the wounded.

The community said in a statement that the despicable terrorist attack that targeted Russia and its security entails all denunciation and condemnation.

The statement stressed that the timing of the bloody terrorist attack on the concert hall in the Crocus Complex raises questions that need to be answered about the motives of this despicable act and the party behind it.

The statement considered that the moral crisis that global Zionism is going through as a result of the brutal Israeli aggression against the Palestinian people automatically leads to the conclusion that the Zionists and their allies everywhere are the ones who benefit first and foremost from targeting stability in Russia in the circumstances of the Rus

Occupied Jerusalem, For the 170th day, the Israeli occupation continues its brutal aggression on the stricken Gaza Strip by land, sea and air, targeting homes, displaced communities and streets, leaving dozens of martyrs and wounded, and more bloody massacres and horrific crimes against Palestinians.

The Medical staff picked up six bodies from under the rubble of a house that was bombed by the occupation east of Rafah city.

The occupation continues its siege and aggression on al-Shifa Medical Complex for the seventh day in a row.

Palestinian Health Ministry stated that the number of victims of the continuous Israeli aggression on Gaza since the 7th of last October, has risen to 32,226 martyrs and 74,518 injured.

Moscow, The Syrian Embassy in Moscow has lowered national flag to half-mast in solidarity with the Russian leadership people after the terrorist attack that targeted the Crocus City Hall mall in Moscow on Friday.

This came in coincide with the day of nationwide mourning declared in Russia for the victims of the aforementioned terrorist attack.

On Saturday evening, Russian President Vladimir Putin has declared March 24 a day of nationwide mourning in a televised address to the Russian people.

Damascus, The Syrian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates announced Sunday that Damascus joins Global Artificial Intelligence (AI) Governance Initiative, launched by Chinese President Xi Jinping at the Third Belt and Road Forum.

Syria welcomes the global initiative which calls on the countries to strengthen and comply with the ethics system of international collaborative research activities in the field of artificial intelligence, the Ministry said in a statement.

‘Syria supports reaching an international agreement on the issue of ethics of artificial intelligence governance on the basis of broad participation, and working to formulate a framework, standards and rules for international governance, with full respect for the principles and practices of national AI governance existing in various countries,’ the ministry added.

The ministry said that Syria affirms the importance of this initiative in establishing a set of controls that must be followed with respect to artificial intelligence governance,
including the prioritization of ethics, and special accountability mechanisms.

The ministry concluded that Syria thanks the Chinese President and the People’s Republic of China for their its great interest and rich contributions to promoting everything that is good for humanity.

Moscow, The death toll in the terrorist attack that targeted the Crocus Mall on the outskirts of the capital, Moscow, has risen to 137 people.

The Russian Investigative Committee reported according to Sputnik News Agency that the ‘bodies of 137 people were found at the site of the terrorist attack, 3 of whom were children, and so far 62 bodies have been identified.’

The committee added: ‘Investigation procedures are underway with four suspects in the terrorist attack, and investigators will soon take measures to arrest them as a preventive measure.’.
