2026 World Cup Qualifiers: FIFA Approves Holding Palestinian Team Matches in Palestine

The Palestinian Football Association (PFA) announced that the International Federation of Association Football (FIFA) has approved the holding of team Palestine’s matches in Palestine, as part of the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers.

PFA stated Wednesday that FIFA and the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) issued a decision regarding the match between Palestine and Jordan at Faisal Al-Husseini International Stadium in Palestine.

FIFA and AFC informed PFA that it is impossible to hold the match in Palestine due to the lack of time, fear that the Israeli occupation will stop the arrival of the Jordanian brothers and also affect the entry of the technical cadres tasked with supervising the match, therefore the match is forced to move to Malaysia.

Within Group B, the Palestinian team is scheduled to face South Korea on September 5 in Seoul and Jordan on September 10 in Malaysia.

Arrangements are underway to hold the match between Palestine and Kuwait at Faisal Al-Husseini International Stadium in Palestine on O
ctober 15, PFA explained.

The Palestinian national team is participating for the first time in its history in the third and final round of the Asian qualifiers for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

Group B includes the teams of Palestine, South Korea, Iraq, Oman, Jordan, and Kuwait.
