1,100 Civil Defense Volunteers Take Part in Serving Two Holy Mosques Visitors

The Civil Defense volunteers are providing support and aid to Umrah performers and visitors, particularly the elderly, during the holy month of Ramadan at the Grand Holy Mosque and the Prophet’s Holy Mosque. As many as 1,100 volunteers work in 22 areas within the Two Holy Mosques on evacuation and rescue operations, as they deal with risks through rapid intervention in emergency cases, and provide preventive awareness in the crowded sites.

This comes as part of the efforts of the General Directorate of Civil Defense to encourage citizen participation in voluntary work, which has provided 220 opportunities to volunteers during the current Umrah season in Ramadan. These initiatives aim to contribute to the Saudi Vision 2030 objectives.
