Ramallah, The Palestinian Minister of Health, Dr. Mai Al Kaila, said 28 medical practitioners operating in the health sector have been killed while scores of them have been wounded due to the persistent Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip for the eighth day.
In a statement on Saturday, Al Kaila added that 15 medical centers have been damaged due to the Israeli shelling, while Beit Hanoun Hospital and Al Durrah Children’s Hospital have gone out of service, with the damage of 23 ambulances whose work has been entirely stopped.
The Palestinian Ministry of Health reiterated its call for the international community, the United Nations, as well as human rights, humanitarian, and international organizations to provide urgent protection for hospitals, treatment centers, ambulances, health cadres, patients, and injured people who are exposed to the Israeli bombardment on daily basis.
The Israeli occupation forces are threatening medical practitioners in the hospitals of the Gaza Strip daily to evacuate, which is an equivocal threat to the lives of hundreds of patients and injured people, including Al-Durrah Children’s Hospital which was evacuated on Friday after it was bombed with the internationally banned phosphorous shells, Al Kaila added, pointing out that Beit Hanoun Hospital was also bombarded and went out of service due to the Israeli shelling.
