Arab League Asst. Secretary General praises Bahrain’s preparation to host 33rd Arab Summit

Manama, Ambassador Ahmed Rashid Khattabi, Assistant Secretary General and Head of the Media and Communication Sector at the Arab League, expressed his appreciation for the kingdom’s arrangements to host the 33rd session of the Arab Summit.

In a statement to Bahrain News Agency (BNA), Ambassador Khattabi praised the efforts of the organising committee tasked with organising the upcoming Arab summit that reflects Bahrain’s commitment to its Arab identity, which has been reinforced under its leadership since the launching of the comprehensive development process and the National Action Charter. He also emphasised the kingdom’s dedication to fostering Arab cooperation across political, economic, social, cultural and media domains.

The ambassador said that the Arab League meeting at the ministerial level adopted the draft of Arab media strategy in the field of combating terrorism, aimed at making the Arab media more capable of detecting misleading information and more effective in dealing with terrorist events.

hattabi commended the Naif Arab University for Security Sciences (NAUSS) for its efforts in updating the strategy and reviewing member states’ proposals for thorough and effective preparation. He emphasised the significance of collaborative efforts to ensure the optimal implementation of this foundational strategy.
