Doha International Center for Interfaith Dialogue Participates in COP28

Dubai, – The Doha International Center for Interfaith Dialogue (DICID) participated in the 28th session of the Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP 28), held in Dubai, United Arab Emirates from Nov. 30 until Dec. 12.

HE Chairperson of the Board of Directors of the DICID Dr. Ibrahim bin Saleh Al Nuaimi presented a scientific paper under the title ‘international practices and partnerships of the DICID in addressing the effects of climate change,’ in light of the center’s keenness to be present in that event, where civil society institutions, public sector, private sector, and local communities come together to make lasting impacts in the fight against climate change.

Marking the occasion, HE Dr. Ibrahim bin Saleh Al Nuaimi said that the center’s activities seek to raise awareness about the relationship between faith and the environment to develop more comprehensive knowledge about how faith contributes to protecting and preserving the environment.

In his speech at the COP28 Faith Pavilion, HE Dr. Al Nuaimi reviewed the most important international conferences held by DICID to discuss issues of environment and climate change in 2023. His Excellency also reviewed the most important issues of the Religions journal issues by the DICID, pointing out to the partnership between the DICID, Global One 2015, and the Partnership for Faith and Development organization, which resulted in organizing a global forum under the title Women, Religion and Climate Change (WRCC 2023).
