Egypt reopens Gaza’s Rafah crossing

Egypt resumed the opening of the Rafah border crossing with the Gaza Strip on Monday, local media reported. The decision came after a government directive to “help stranded Palestinians” and humanitarian cases in the besieged strip to move on both sides of the border, Al-Shorouk daily reported. The crossing saw notable security presence, Egypt-based Middle East News Agency reported. The reopening of the Rafah crossing will allow the movement of aid and construction materials into Gaza.
