G7 Foreign Ministers Support Extension of Pause in Gaza

General

Washington, Foreign ministers of the Group of Seven (G7) countries support the further extension of the recent pause in Gaza to increase assistance and facilitate the release of all hostages.

“Every effort must be made to ensure humanitarian support for civilians, including food, water, fuel, and medical supplies. We support the further extension of this pause and future pauses as needed to enable assistance to be scaled up, and to facilitate the release of all hostages,” the ministers said in a joint statement on Tuesday.

The Palestinian and Israeli sides have reached an agreement to extend the humanitarian pause in Gaza for two additional days with the same previous conditions. Those conditions are a ceasefire and the entry of humanitarian aid. The agreement was reached within the framework of the joint mediation between the State of Qatar, the Arab Republic of Egypt, and the United States of America.
