The Global Coalition in Iraq announced that a drone belonging to the coalition crashed in the south of Iraq’s Kirkuk governorate on Saturday.
In a statement, the coalition said the drone experienced a mechanical failure while providing support to Iraqi security forces during their operations. The Iraqi security forces responded promptly and secured the crash site, ensuring the area was protected against potential threats.
To mitigate any risks associated with the wreckage, the coalition’s personnel executed a controlled detonation to clear the debris. No injuries were reported, and no damage to civilian infrastructure occurred as a result of the incident, the statement added.
