HH Sheikha Moza bint Hamad Al Khalifa Fund continues to support cochlear implant surgeries

Her Highness Shaikha Moza bint Hamad Al Khalifa Fund has supported cochlear implantation surgeries, in cooperation with King Hamad University Hospital, as part of the partnership journey that brought together the Fund and the hospital in the field of to provide treatment to patients with hearing impairments.

The Fund aims to carry out charitable and humanitarian work that attends to peoples’ needs and benefit members of the Bahraini society. Since its inception, the Fund has succeeded in supporting many humanitarian initiatives in all social and educational fields, with a focus on supporting health needs.

The Fund has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) in 2018 with King Hamad University Hospital to financially support the treatment of children suffering from hearing impairments through cochlear implantation. HH Shaikha Moza supported five cochlear implants for children.

The Fund has witnessed many valuable initiatives in the field of health. A donation was made to purchase 36 insulin pumps for children with diabetes. In the field of education, the Fund sponsors a number of scholarships in the field of human medicine at both the Arabian Gulf University and the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland – Bahrain, and provides scholarships for postgraduates’ studies (Master’s Degrees) at the University of Bahrain.

“Based on the values that we embody at AlMabarrah AlKhalifia Foundation (MKF), which aims to make a positive impact on society, we are proud of our management of the Shaikha Moza bint Hamad al Khalifa Fund, which has always contributed to providing humanitarian initiatives that serve many groups of society, especially in meeting the needs of their health conditions,” Her Highness Shaikha Zain bint Khalid Al Khalifa said.

“In the future, we look forward to managing similar funds in order to achieve the principle of community partnership and to activate our role in social responsibility towards our beloved Kingdom and its honorable people.”

Representatives of King Hamad University Hospital expressed their appreciation for the support provided by the Shaikha Moza bint Hamad Al Khalifa Fund to support humanitarian and charitable initiatives due to their positive impact on patients and to serving the Bahraini society in all segments.

Under the directives of the daughters of HH Shaikha Moza bint Hamad Al Khalifa, the charity fund was set up in 2011 and is being run by MKF. The Fund aims to carry out charitable and humanitarian work in aims to serve those in need and the local community as a whole.
