ICAO President Praises Saudi Arabia’s Pioneering Role in Shaping Global Aviation’s Future

Riyadh: UN International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) Council President Salvatore Sciacchitano commended Saudi Arabia’s pioneering role in shaping the future of global aviation.

During his participation in the third annual Future Aviation Forum (FAF 2024) in Riyadh, he highlighted the unlimited support provided by the Saudi leadership to the aviation sector.

FAF 2024, themed ‘Elevating Global Connectivity,’ is organized by the General Authority of Civil Aviation (GACA) from May 20 to 22.

In his speech, Sciacchitano stated that the Saudi Vision 2030 has paid clear attention to supporting the aviation industry.

He noted that the global civil-aviation system will continue to advance its efforts over the coming decades, emphasizing that the Kingdom’s hosting of FAF 2024 embodies its clear message of elevating global communication.

He highlighted the goals of Saudi Vision 2030, which shapes the future of the country, and the important vital role that the transportation sector plays in this regard.

while, Sciacchitano affirmed responding to all the priorities set by international organizations to achieve fuel sustainability and reach net-zero emissions. In this field, he underlined ICAO’s support to international cooperation to facilitate access to investment capabilities with a focus on developing countries and their needs.

Sciacchitano commended the Kingdom’s exceptional efforts in reducing carbon emissions. He underscored the role of the Saudi Green Initiative and its ambitious programs and projects in achieving this goal.
