Ministry of Municipality and Environment Takes a Prominent Part in Suhail-Katara Exhibition 2021

The MME participates in the 5th edition of Suhail-Katara International Hunting and Falconry Exhibition 2021, the events of which kicked off this Tuesday morning and will continue until 11th September. The MME participates in this Exhibition through a distinctive pavilion with a design inspired by Dune-Bashing at Sealine. This year, a number of new activities have been added to the MME?s pavilion, such as some of stuffed animals from the Qatari wildlife and types of wild plants from the local environment. This pavilion also provides an ancient hunting tool, i.e., trap, archery, and leash, etc. Furthermore, information about these animals and plants was displayed via iPads inside the pavilion. The pavilion also displays some animal embryos, such as: camel, deer, rabbit and monkey. Additionally, types of animal diseases are outlined, in order to familiarize and educate visitors about them. Furthermore, the role of veterinary laboratories at the Livestock Department regarding this field has been clarified. Some services are provided by the MME?s pavilion, such as issuing falcon passports to local vendors and Health Certificates for re-exports falcons to travellers outside Qatar. The Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora certificate is also issued. This certificate is needed to import, export or re-export the endangered wildlife that are listed under this certificate known as ‘CITES’.
