NATO Rejects Russian Complaints About UK Supplying Kiev Authorities with Ammunition Containing Depleted Uranium

NATO chief Jens Stoltenberg on Thursday dismissed Russian complaints about Britain’s announcement that it will send Ukraine ammunition containing depleted uranium.

Stoltenberg said in statements regarding this news: “NATO allies are following international rules and international law in everything they do in their support for Ukraine,” noting that “The most important thing that can be done to reduce risks is for President Putin to stop the war.” The Western position comes one day after the United States dismissed the Russian complaints, which it described as “strawman” argument.

Assistant Secretary of Defense Annabel Goldie confirmed on Monday that the UK would provide Ukraine with the depleted uranium rounds, this prompted Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov to warn London of this step, stressing that it would have serious consequences and increase the pace of escalation.
