DOHA: Reigning Asian champions Qatar thrashed UAE 5-0 on Friday in the second quarterfinal of FIFA Arab Cup 2021.
The hosts will play with the winner between Morocco or Algeria in the semifinal on 15 December at Al Thumama Stadium.
Star striker Akram Afif opened the scoring in the sixth following a melee after Almoez Ali released his team-mate with a deft pass inside the box.
Almoez had the best opportunity to increase the lead but he couldn’t beat goalkeeper Ali Kasheif in one-on-one situation as the UAE captain smartly blocked it with his right foot.
