Manama, Jamal Mohammed Fakhro, First Deputy Chairman of the Shura Council, received Zhang Yizhen, Chairperson of the Jiangsu Provincial Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) and his accompanying delegation.
Fakhro conveyed the greetings of Ali bin Saleh Al Saleh, Chairman of the Shura Council, affirming the historic Bahrain-China relations.
The First Deputy Chairman emphasised China’s development in the industrial and commercial sectors.
The meeting reviewed the advancement of the legislative authority in Bahrain, and highlighted the Kingdom’s efforts in achievement development in various sectors.
It also touched on Bahrain’s role in promoting peaceful coexistence between various cultures and religions.
The CPPCC Chairperson noted the importance of potential opportunities of cooperation between the two countries in the economic, commerce, environment, and science sectors.
She commended Bahrain’s efforts in hosting the 146th Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU) earlier this year, which provided an opportunity to showcase Bahrain’s civilized image, its peacefulness and openness, and its advanced democratic process.
