The 2023 Saudi-Swiss CleanTech Forum Commences with Participation of 300 Experts

The Saudi-Swiss CleanTech Forum 2023 kicked off here on Sunday at the Garage headquarters, with the participation of 300 experts in the field.



The forum is organized by the King Abdulaziz City for Science and Technology (KACST), in cooperation with the Research, Development, and Innovation Authority (RDIA) and the Embassy of Switzerland in the Kingdom.



During the forum, the Saudi Minister of Economy and Planning, Faisal bin Fadel Al-Ibrahim, emphasized the vital importance of government support and regulatory frameworks for a comprehensive transition to sustainable energy sources.



“The NEOM project aims to produce one million tons of green ammonia, utilizing the Kingdom’s resources,” he said, affirming that clean technology plays a pivotal role in enhancing energy efficiency and sustainability.



In her statement, the Swiss State Secretary for Economic Affairs, Helene Budliger Artieda, emphasized Switzerland’s ongoing quest for innovative clean technology solutions to address complex environmental challenges faced by the world.



She expressed her delight in the participation of 15 Swiss startup companies before investors at the Saudi-Swiss forum.



This forum is a result of the synergy between Swiss efforts aimed at innovative excellence and the Kingdom’s solid commitment to sustainable technological progress, said the Swiss State Secretary.



The forum addressed the latest scientific and technological developments aimed at mitigating the environmental challenges faced by countries worldwide. It focused on finding climate-friendly innovations and sustainable solutions, as well as exploring investment opportunities in clean technology markets.



Additionally, the forum aimed to establish scientific and academic collaborations between entities sharing mutual interests in both countries.
