Riyadh, The Zakat, Tax and Customs Authority (ZATCA) at Duba Port has thwarted an attempt to smuggle 1,006,518 Captagon pills, which were found hidden in a shipment labeled “pepper and guava” coming into the Kingdom through the port.

After the seizure was completed, coordination was made with the General Directorate of Narcotics Control (GDNC) to ensure the arrest of the expected recipient of the seized items inside the Kingdom, and he was arrested.

ZATCA said it is committed to stiffening customs control of the Kingdom’s imports and exports, stressing that it will stay vigilant to thwart smuggling attempts to ensure the security of the society.

ZATCA urges the public to contribute to combating smuggling and protecting society and the national economy by contacting the authority’s designated number for security reports, 1910, via e-mail: 1910@zatca.gov.sa, or by the international number 00966114208417. The authority receives reports related to smuggling and violations of the Common Customs Law with utmost
confidentiality and grants a financial reward to informers if the information proves correct.
