Hatay: King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief) Supervisor General Dr. Abdullah Al Rabeeah launched here yesterday a volunteer medical program to provide psychological support to 750 earthquake-affected individuals living in camps in Syria and Trkiye.

This initiative is part of a series of relief and humanitarian projects implemented by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia through KSrelief to help those affected by the earthquake in Syria and Trkiye.

Pilgrims and Visitors to Madinah Unite to Plant 300 Trees Next to the Prophet’s Mosque


Madinah: The Municipality of Madinah Region has implemented a voluntary initiative to plant more than 300 trees in the central area next to the Prophet’s Mosque. Pilgrims and visitors to Madinah took part in the initiative, which aims to raise environmental awareness, promote community engagement and volunteerism, and help protect the environment.

According to the municipality, the Catharanthus plant was selected for planting due to its environmental benefits and compatibility with the region’s climate. Its ability to enhance the aesthetics of the surroundings will create a more pleasant and serene environment for both residents and visitors.

The municipality underlined its commitment to increasing greenery, promoting environmental sustainability, and improving the urban landscape in the region. It also emphasized the vital role of community participation in these endeavors.

Saudi Arabia Wins Presidency of ACAO Executive Council


Riyadh: The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia unanimously won the presidency of the Executive Council of the Arab Civil Aviation Organization (ACAO) during the 28th Ordinary General Assembly meeting in Rabat, Morocco. Minister of Transport and Logistic Services, Eng. Saleh Al-Jasser, stated that this victory reflects the Kingdom’s high status in international and regional organizations and its significant role in civil aviation.

Al-Jasser expressed gratitude to Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and HRH Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, for their support of the civil aviation sector. He emphasized the importance of enhancing joint Arab efforts in the air transport industry to achieve the highest safety standards.

As a founding member of ACAO, Saudi Arabia has consistently supported the organization’s goals and participated in its executive council and technical committees. The Kingdom hosts the regional headquarters for safety oversight
and the cooperative aviation security program for Middle Eastern countries. It also supports the International Civil Aviation Organization’s “No Country Left Behind” initiative with $1 million.

Al-Jasser affirmed the Kingdom’s commitment to developing and supporting ACAO and enhancing its international role, while cooperating with Arab and international partners to promote the aviation industry.

Saudi Arabia, one of the founders of ACAO, established in 1996 and affiliated with the Arab League, aims to enhance cooperation among Arab countries in civil aviation development.

Al Rabeeah Inspects Housing Project for Earthquake Victims in Trkiye


Gaziantep: Advisor at the Royal Court and King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief) Supervisor General Dr. Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al Rabeeah on Wednesday conducted an inspection visit to the housing units delivered to earthquake victims in Trkiye.

The project includes 364 residential units located in the Islahiye area of Gaziantep province.

During the visit, beneficiaries of the project expressed profound gratitude to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia for providing these residential units through humanitarian arm KSrelief.

They emphasized that these temporary housing units are of high quality, modern design, and meet essential living needs for families and individuals. They also noted that such gestures are not surprising from the government and generous people of the Kingdom.

KSrelief has supplied 3,000 housing units for earthquake victims in Syria and Trkiye, including 1,500 temporary housing units for those affected by the earthquake in the Afrin region of Syria’s Aleppo Governorate. Each tem
porary housing unit consists of two rooms and a bathroom equipped with basic furniture.

Other Saudi-provided facilities include a school accommodating 756 individuals, a mosque for 700 worshippers, 20 caravans for administrative and commercial activities, 15 playground areas for children, and a water well.

Solar-energy units and infrastructure works also were provided for all housing units.

About 1,500 temporary housing units were also provided for earthquake victims in the districts of Islahiye and Nurdagi in Gaziantep province, as well as in Adiyaman and Malatya provinces in Trkiye. These units also consist of two rooms and a bathroom with basic furniture, benefiting a total of 12,000 individuals.

Meanwhile, efforts are underway to provide 1,000 temporary housing units in three areas in Hatay province, expected to benefit 5,000 individuals.

These efforts come as an extension of relief projects provided by the Kingdom through its humanitarian arm, KSrelief, aimed at alleviating the suffering of those af
fected by the earthquakes in Syria and Trkiye.

U.S. National Islamic Committee on Scouting Chief Highlights Saudi Arabia’s Tremendous Efforts to Serve Pilgrims


Riyadh: Scout Leader Syed Ehtesham Naqvi, the president of the U.S. National Islamic Committee on Scouting, praised the efforts and services provided by the Saudi Arabian government to serve pilgrims, Umrah performers, and visitors to the Prophet’s Mosque, facilitating their performance of rituals.

Naqvi’s remarks came during his visit on Tuesday to the Saudi scouting delegation participating in the International Muslim Scouts Jamboree 2024, being held at Camp Starke in Houston, Texas, organized by the Boy Scouts of America. The third annual International Muslim Scouts Jamboree runs through Saturday, July 6.

He highlighted the significant efforts of the Saudi scouts and their active participation in various international events, including the International Muslim Scouts Jamboree, where they attract attention in each edition with their activities reflecting the scouting advancement in the Kingdom.

He indicated that they convey a message to participants about the progress their country has achieved across di
fferent fields.

During the meeting attended by Saudi Arabian Scout Association (SASA) vice president Dr. Abdurrahman bin Ibrahim Al-Mudaires, Naqvi praised the role of the Saudi scouts in serving pilgrims with courteous, ethical, and humanitarian conduct, reflecting the Kingdom’s keen interest, under its wise leadership, in the welfare of the visitors to the Two Holy Mosques.

During the past two days, the Saudi delegation participated in several activities including earning hobby and merit badges, playing adventure games, and participating in sports competitions.

Pilgrims Bid Farewell to Madinah by Buying Gifts and Souvenirs


Madinah: The pilgrims bid farewell to Madinah after being blessed with the opportunity to perform Hajj and visit the Prophet’s Mosque, where they prayed and visited many mosques and historical landmarks in Madinah.

Most of the pilgrims conclude their spiritual journey by buying gifts and souvenirs to take back to their relatives and families in their home countries.

The Saudi Press Agency (SPA) documented scenes of pilgrims enthusiastically shopping for gifts before departing to their home countries.

These souvenirs serve as mementos of their spiritual journey and include items such as gold, dates, prayer beads, silver rings, and locally made products from Madinah, as well as Zamzam water bottles designated for air transport.

Washington: Minister of Communications and Information Technology, Eng. Abdullah bin Amer Al-Swaha, met with the CEO and founder of Groq Inc., Jonathan Ross, during his current visit to the United States of America.

During the meeting, they discussed ways to enhance cooperation in advanced technology fields, focusing on developing artificial intelligence (AI) solutions to support innovations in various sectors.

On the other hand, Vice Minister of Communications and Information Technology, Eng. Haitham Al-Ohali, met with the General Partner of First Spark Ventures, Danny Chen and its Managing Partner, Manish Kothari, to enhance investment in innovation, deep technologies, and AI.

They discussed significant investment opportunities in deep tech fields such as cybersecurity, AI, and digital biotechnologies.

Hail: The Resin Art Corner, part of the Hail Artisans House Festival, captivated visitors of all ages over a span of thirty days. This event showcased the beauty of resin art amidst a rich heritage and artistic atmosphere.

Resin art is a contemporary craft that involves blending liquid resin with another strengthening liquid in an artistic manner. Gradually, the mixture transforms into a solid material, resulting in various aesthetic shapes used in different fields.

Artist Laila Saleh Al-Shammari, with five years of experience in resin art, presented her versatile creations. She has adapted her production to include women’s accessories, office and home decor, wall paintings, pens, serving plates, and more. Al-Shammari utilizes a range of techniques, such as creating sea waves and shells, simulating geodes, incorporating natural materials like plants and flowers, and even incorporating local elements like coffee, cardamom, and the famous red sand “Al-Bathaa” of the Hail region.

Shenzhou-18 taikonauts complete second spacewalk


The Shenzhou-18 taikonauts on board China’s orbiting space station completed their second spacewalk at 10:51 pm (Beijing Time) on Wednesday, according to the China Manned Space Agency.

Ye Guangfu, Li Cong and Li Guangsu worked for about 6.5 hours to complete multiple tasks, with Li Guangsu remaining inside the space station, Xinhua News Agency reported.

With the assistance of the space station’s robotic arm and researchers on Earth, they installed space debris protection devices for the pipelines, cables and key equipment outside the Tiangong space station, and conducted an extravehicular inspection.

Ye Guangfu and Li Cong, who were assigned the spacewalk duty, have since returned safely to the Wentian lab module.

The trio have completed one third of their space journey and are scheduled to carry out a large amount of in-orbit scientific experiments and technological tests, the agency said.
