Qatar Coach Queiroz to Announce Final Squad for Concacaf Gold Cup Tuesday

Qatar coach Carlos Queiroz will announce Tuesday his final squad for the Concacaf Gold Cup 2023 in the US and Canada from June 24 to July 16.

The Portuguese will supervise Monday evening the last training session at Aspire Academy for his preliminary 41-player list. This list will be reduced to 21 players to be involved in the second phase of preparation for Qatar’s second appearance in the tournament.

The final squad will re-assemble on May 30 for a training camp in Austria that will include three trial matches against Croatia on June 8, Jamaica on June 15 and New Zealand on June 19.

Qatar were drawn in Group B alongside Mexico, Haiti and Honduras. Their opener will be against Haiti on June 25 before they take on Honduras on June 29 and wrap up the group stage against Mexico on July 2.

In their first Concacaf Gold Cup appearance in 2021, Qatar were defeated 0-1 in the semifinals against hosts and reigning champions the US.
